Wolves boss Rob Edwards makes Leeds United 'above' claim in Whites verdict and Daniel Farke declaration

Wolves boss Rob Edwards has given his Leeds United verdict ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash at Elland Road.

Wolves boss Rob Edwards has made a declaration about Leeds United’s league position and saluted a “brilliant” key figure in a glowing Whites verdict ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash at Elland Road.

Edwards left Middlesbrough to replace the sacked Vitor Pereira as Wolves boss last November and the Molineux outfit’s results have greatly improved since his arrival but ultimately not in time to see off inevitable relegation.

Ahead of Saturday’s trip to Leeds, Wolves remain rooted to the foot of the division and 15 points from safety which all means that the Old Gold could be mathematically relegated this weekend.

Edwards’ side sit 19 points behind Leeds who are in 16th place and six points clear of the dropzone yet Edwards believes United’s consistent recent performances actually merit a higher place up the division.

Speaking at Friday’s pre-match press conference, Edwards said of Leeds and Whites boss Farke: “I think he's a brilliant manager first and foremost. He's done a great job.

“Above where they are actually in the league”

"I actually think their performance levels consistently for a long time now are above where they are actually in the league.

"I think they have done great.

"They have got some really good players, they have got a great way of playing very aggressive, really dynamic, quick, loads of intensity so it will be a very challenging game.

"The players know all this and we are looking forward to it so it should be good.

"Going up to Elland Road it is always a really good atmosphere as well.

"They will be buoyed by the result from last time out when they played at United so it should be a really good game for us."
