Sean Longstaff's five-word verdict on Leeds United friendly vs Wrexham and declaration about support

Sean Longstaff impressed in centre midfield in Leeds United’s first pre-season friendly in America against Wrexham.

Sean Longstaff has given a five-word verdict of Leeds United’s first pre-season friendly against Wrexham with a declaration about his team’s support.

Longstaff was one of the more experienced players handed a start by boss Daniel Farke for the weekend’s first friendly against Wrexham in Tampa for which Farke also gave full debuts to three Whites youngsters in Jayden Lienou, Alfie Cresswell and Callum Mills.

Leeds found themselves 1-0 down after just 31 seconds and United then had Longstaff to thank for going in at the half-time break level, the former Newcastle United ace impressing in the middle of the park and scoring a lovely goal on the stroke of half-time to make it 2-2.

“Incredible support”

Longstaff was then withdrawn at the interval and his side ultimately suffered a 3-2 defeat, Leeds squandering chances to go ahead after the break and undone by Sam Smith’s 88th-minute winner.

Longstaff, though, ultimately saluted the friendly as a decent run out in a five-word verdict as he also hailed the support for his team out in Florida.

Taking to social media platform X, Longstaff wrote: “Good minutes in the tank. Incredible support out in Tampa.”
