Premier League rivals reportedly join battle for Leeds United transfer target with £20m-plus price tag
Premier League rivals have joined Leeds United in the battle for a Whites transfer target.
Crystal Palace have reportedly joined the battle to sign a young Leeds United summer transfer target with a £20m-plus price tag.
Leeds are keen on 22-year-old Southampton midfielder Shea Charles who can operate as a deep-lying option but likes to get forward and create too.
It was reported last weekend that the Whites had tabled a £20m bid, which was subsequently rejected.
The YEP understands that Leeds viewed the situation as an ongoing process rather than the end of their pursuit and that talks are continuing as they attempt to reach a deal for the Northern Ireland international.
The Whites, though, could now face extra competition for Charles amid reports from football journalist Alan Nixon that Premier League rivals Crystal Palace are also interested in signing him.
