Leeds United get significant strong fresh backing for Sunderland trip
Leeds United’s first game after Christmas takes them to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland.
Leeds United have received significant, strong fresh backing for Sunday’s return to Premier League action at Sunderland, somewhat flying in the face of current standings.
Newly-promoted pair Leeds and Sunderland will finally lock horns for the first time this season in Sunday’s 2pm kick-off at the Stadium of Light, ahead of which ten places and eight points separate the two sides in the Premier League table.
Under boss Regis Le Bris, Sunderland are still flying along in sixth place and the Black Cats are one of just two teams still unbeaten at home in the division along with leaders and title-favourites Arsenal.
Leeds, meanwhile, sit fifth-bottom but after a strong recent run and the bookies have given Daniel Farke’s side significant and strong fresh backing as challenging for favouritism at Sunderland with some firms.
Five victories and three draws from eight games
The high-flying Black Cats have bagged five victories and three draws from their eight Premier League games at the Stadium of Light so far this season yet Leeds are no bigger than 15-8 to leave with a victory and as short as 13-8 with some firms.
In being a best available 7-4, Sunderland are just about favourites but only marginally for a contest in which the draw is a 23-10 chance.
Some firms also have the Black Cats and Whites as 13-8 joint favourites.
Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor heads the first scorer market but only just at 5-2 ahead of United’s bang-in-form Dominic Calvert-Lewin at 5-2.
In a very tight market, a 1-1 draw is comfortably favourite in the correct score market at 11-2.
Leeds to leave with a 1-0 win is the same price as the same score Sunderland victory at 15-2 and a goalless draw is only 8s.
