Tarik Muharemovic's first words as a Leeds United player, what brought him to Elland Road and vow
Tarik Muharemovic has given his first words as a Leeds United player.
Tarik Muharemovic has given his first words as a Leeds United player, detailing what he will bring to the team with a vow on his switch to Elland Road.
Two and a half weeks on from losing Pascal Struijk to Brighton in a £20m deal, Leeds have spent £34m to make Bosnia and Herzegovina defender Muharemovic the second most expensive signing in the club’s history.
Only the £34.5m spent on Georginio Rutter eclipses the fee for Muharemovic who has joined the Whites from Serie A side Sassuolo on a five-year deal.
“That is what has brought me here”
Fresh from helping Sassuolo to a very respectable 11th-placed finish, Muharemovic then starred for his country at the World Cup and the centre-back has now shared his first words as a Leeds United player.
In a clip shared by Leeds United on social media, the new signing vowed that he was ready for the fight ahead as he said: “My name is Tarik Muharemovic. I join the club that is bult on commitment. Hard work in the fire of defence. That is what has brought me here. That is the mentality I share. Win your battles. Stay calm under pressure. And always keep fighting. I’m ready. Marching on Together.”
