Tarik Muharemovic makes Leeds United declaration with glowing verdict, personal aim and 'forget' it stance

Tarik Muharemovic has made a brilliant start to his Leeds United career after joining the club for £34.1m from Sassuolo.

New Whites star Tarik Muharemovic has issued a beaming early verdict of life as a Leeds United player, declaring his personal aim with a ‘forget’ it stance.

Leeds shelled out £34.1m to sign Bosnia and Herzegovina international centre-back Muharemovic from Sassuolo in the summer, just one year after the defender had joined Sassuolo from Juventus.

Muharemovic had been a Juventus player for four years having signed for the club from Wolfsberger in August 2021 but the defender ultimately left Juve without making an appearance for the first team, game time limited to the club’s youth sides and then a loan spell at Sassuolo.

Muharemovic, though, says he now wants to ‘forget; those early years with Juventus, the defender quickly declaring himself as really happy at Leeds and determined to now “show who I am” upon his move to Elland Road.

“Why didn't we have a chance? This wasn't in my hands , they had better ideas and knew why,” said Muharemovic in an interview with gianlucadimarzio.com.

“Now I'm really happy to be here, at Leeds, and in the Premier League, and not somewhere else. My focus is here and I just want to forget those early years... I thank Sassuolo and I'm really grateful for what they did for me. I'm at Leeds United to show who I am.”
