Leeds United relegation six-pointer moved as new kick-off date and time confirmed

The Premier League have confirmed the date and time for Leeds United's trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

Leeds United’s Premier League trip to Tottenham Hotspur has been moved with fans set for a lengthy night-time journey back from North London.

Daniel Farke’s side head to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for what will be their third-to-last game of the season in May. It looks set to be a huge relegation six-pointer, with Leeds currently 15th in the table, two places and three points clear of Spurs.

On Thursday afternoon, the Premier League confirmed fixtures dates and times for matchweek 36 with Leeds’ trip to Tottenham now taking place on Monday, May 11. The game will kick off at 8pm and be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Leeds and Tottenham will be the last two relegation-threatened teams to play that weekend. Nottingham Forest host Newcastle on Sunday, 10 May at 2pm while West Ham welcome Arsenal to the London Stadium later that day.

The Monday night game leaves fans with an arduous trip back from London, given the game itself will not finish until close to 10pm. London Kings’ Cross train station, which runs services back to Leeds, is at least 40 minutes away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on public transport.

It’s the second time in quick succession Leeds have seen a fixture moved to be played under floodlights. The Premier League confirmed last week that Burnley’s trip to Elland Road in gameweek 35 will now take place on Friday, May 1. That will also be an 8pm kick-off shown live on Sky Sports.
