Teams back out

No changes - could be anything this.

Half time report

Leeds were denied a seventh-minute opener by the frame of the goal as new set piece menaces Sean Longstaff and Joe Rodon combined again.

One week on from providing the corner for Rodon's headed goal against Bournemouth, Longstaff sent in a beautiful free-kick to which Rodon arrived at the far post before smashing a header on to the post.

Both teams then exchanged further chances but it was Spurs who took the lead with 23 minutes on the clock through a deflected strike from Mathys Tel.

Leeds lost the ball as they looked to build an attack in centre midfield and lost it to the wrong man in Mohammed Kudus who bagged yet another assist in sliding in Tel whose thumping shot deflected off Pascal Struijk before whizzing past Karl Darlow into the back of the net.

Leeds suddenly looked up against it but the Whites should have equalised four minutes later through Dominic Calvert-Lewin who seized upon a loose ball in the box but the striker could only slice a wayward finish well wide after cutting inside.

Within a minute, Spurs should then have been 2-0 up, a square ball across the Whites area picking up Kudus who also got his finish all wrong as the ball flew into the Kop.

Kudus looked like creating every time he got the ball yet Leeds drew level nine minutes before the break as a superb cross from Jayden Bogle caused mayhem in the Spurs box.

After running off an earlier knock, Calvert-Lewin got to the ball and created a shooting opportunity for Brenden Aaronson whose firm low drive was well saved by Guglielmo Vicario.

The Spurs keeper, though, parried the ball back into the box with his save and Noah Okafor arrived like a flash to convert from close range.

The goal further increased the Elland Road noise levels and Leeds pushed hard for a second goal but Spurs went mightily close to going back ahead in stoppage time as a header from Tel was kept out by a combination of the crossbar and a fine Karl Darlow save.

Leeds United v Tottenham Hotspur: Darlow; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Ampadu, Longstaff, Stach; Aaronson, Okafor, Calvert-Lewin. Subs not used: Meslier, Justin, Bijol, Bornauw, Gruev, Tanaka, Harrison, Nmecha, Piroe.

Half time

1-1 - a very entertaining watch, all to play for.

BAR SPURS!

46: Tel header. A bit of Darlow and a bit of the crossbar keeps it out. Cross from Odobert from the right.

Added time

45: Four minutes, Kudus v Gudmundsson a really good battle down that side.

A waste

45: Bentancur smashes a shot over from 25 yards out after Spurs pressure, fine headed clearance by Rodon who has been a rock - again.

Weak refereeing

43: Stach is too strong for van de Ven and picks his pocket at the back but gets a free-kick for it. Looked a fair strong challenge. Farke livid.

Tackles flying in

41: Palhinha booked for crunching into Aaronson, Ampadu got away with a strong one beforehand.

Cauldron of noise

38: We’ve got a game alright now, Longstaff hammers a shot from the edge of the box over the bar after more bright play by Aaronson and a fine challenge from Stach. Okafor cross then flies past DCL, narrowly.

Brilliant from Bogle

36: Yet again showing his class, superb whipped cross into the box, DCL brings it down - good play by him too - Aaronson latches on to it, smashes in a decent low shot, very good save by Vicario but parries the ball out and Okafor is on to it like a flash to convert from close range!

GOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!

OKAFOR!!!!!!!!!!!

Too much space

31: For Kudus who looks like creating every time he gets the ball, ball in for Obobert whose attempt to finish is saved. Longstaff then takes a knock. Tel is down injured for Spurs, DCL still trying to run off his knock too. That’s four big chances he’s missed now in his last game and a half.

Leeds injury

29: Calvert-Lewin hobbling, trying to run it off. Twisted awkwardly in a challenge on the touchline. Okafor then runs the ball out of play.

CHANCE SPURS

27: And within seconds it should be 0-2. Square ball across the box to Kudus, should score, wayward shot is well wide, two very poor finishes from DCL and then Kudus.

CHANCE LEEDS

26: A big one, for Calvert-Lewin, seizes on a loose ball in the box, cuts inside but gets his shot all wrong and well wide.

Goal Spurs

23: A powerful strike from Tel deflected off Struijk past Darlow. Ball lost in midfield, Kudus slides it down the right for Tel who still had a lot of work to do. Losing the ball in midfield the issue.

Spurs booking

22: For Kudus, late challenge on Stach.

Down too easy

21: Simons for Spurs in the Leeds box, crowd didn’t like that, could have been booked for that. He’s looked bright though, it’s end to end in its own way. Teams almost trading attacks. Pretty even.

Lovely

18: First time pass by Bogle, gets Leeds moving, Aaronson away, ball falls to Longstaff who takes too long to shoot but Leeds win a corner which flies through the box and away for a throw. Scramble in the box from Ampadu’s decent long throw but cleared.

CHANCE SPURS

17: Udogie played in down the left of the box, in behind the defence, tight angle, goes for goal and shot hits Darlow in the face and bounces away to safety. Udogie is then in again but this time offside, both times played in by Simons.

Fine recovery

12: By Gudmundsson, Kudus got in behind him and it looked dangerous but he got back and won the ball, Aaronson then fouled midway in his half. Kudus looks a huge threat down the right.

First Spurs shot

10: After a neat move, neat passing and bright play by Kudus, Ampadu clears but straight to Palhinha who hammers a shot over from the edge of the box.

POST LEEDS!

7: Them two again, Longstaff free kick, lovely delivery to the far post, Rodon, again, free header, smashes back off the post. So close. Holds his head, close but should really have scored. keeper Vicario was beat.

On the volley!

5: From Stach, rocket of a volley, hits Ampadu’s head and flies behind. First chance, Longstaff took the corner. Leeds soon back on the attack and Okafor wins a free kick on the left, bright start by him.

Leeds pressure

4: Crowd noise ramps up as Okafor comes forward and wins a corner, ball hoofed behind.

First attack

2: Bogle ball down the right for DCL, challenged by van de Ven, ends up on the deck but no free-kick, Ampadu then mops up a Spurs attack. Good solid challenge then by Bogle on Simons

Underway!

1: Spurs kick-off. Eddie Gray getting well into Marching On Together.

Teams out

In sunshine but windy sunshine at Elland Road.

Cheers

Only a few but cheers nonetheless from a few home fans for Archie Gray as Spurs team is read out. Applause then as he takes his seat on the bench.

All set at Elland Road

Warm ups done. Tottenham are marginal favourites, just. 13-8 Spurs but 7-4 Leeds. 5-2 the draw. Given their midweek exertions and injuries, this appears as good a time as any to face Thomas Frank’s side. Prediction: 1-1 - from myself and also chief reporter Graham Smyth. That’s fav in the correct score market too.

Warm-ups underway

Archie Gray one of the first out for Spurs, with a spring in his step, Ampadu then leads out the Whites. The sun is even coming out, still windy though.

Spurs team news, Richarlison benched, Gray also among the subs

Team news in full

Leeds team

Leeds United team vs Tottenham: Darlow; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Ampadu, Longstaff, Stach; Aaronson, Okafor, Calvert-Lewin. Subs: Meslier, Justin, Bijol, Bornauw, Gruev, Tanaka, Harrison, Nmecha, Piroe.

The weather

Not too bad all things considered, very strong gusts of wind mainly at up to 52mph and showers on and off, but they are forecast to clear up. We might even get some sunshine later. But the wind is here to stay and that’s making it feel several degrees colder than it is - about ten degrees but real feel six. So wrap up. Game will be an interesting watch in this wind.

The railings have had it

Looking good despite the weather

Good morning from Elland Road in Storm Amy!
