Manager U-turn with five-year deal talks expected in Leeds United rivals Tottenham's search for new boss
Leeds United’s key rivals Tottenham are on the hunt for another new manager.
Former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has reportedly had a major U-turn in Leeds United’s key rivals Tottenham’s search for a new boss.
Troubled Tottenham looked to ex-Juventus boss Igor Tudor after sacking Thomas Frank but Spurs announced on Sunday that Tudor had left the club on by mutual contest after taking just one point from his short time in charge.
Tottenham had been keen to bring in former Brighton and Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi but it was thought that De Zerbi would not return to football until next season after leaving Marseille in February.
Talks expected over five-year contract proposal
Sky Italy, though, are now reporting that De Zerbi is open to joining Tottenham as head coach immediately and that talks expected to take place immediately over a five-year contract proposal.
The 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the last game before the March international break has left Tottenham fourth-bottom and just one point above the dropzone, three points adrift of 15th-placed Leeds.
Spurs do, however, still remain only fourth-favourites to go down.
