Leeds United bagged another point in their quest for Premier League survival at Chelsea - and a dramatic night of results has led to a huge Whites change in the bookies’ new predicted final table.
Daniel Farke’s Whites took on Tuesday night’s hosts Chelsea at Stamford Bridge without key men Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Pascal Struijk and Anton Stach and looked set to suffer an 11th defeat of the Premier League campaign.
A Joao Pedro strike and Cole Palmer penalty had the Blues 2-0 up but Leeds produced an amazing comeback as a Lukas Nmecha spot kick and close-range finish from Noah Okafor sealed a brilliant 2-2 draw.
The result took Leeds up to 30 points after 26 games played and ultimately improved their position as part of a dramatic night of results.
Leeds began the night fifth-bottom and level on points with 15th-placed Tottenham Hotspur but Spurs suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Newcastle United which saw them drop a point and a place below Farke’s Whites.
Third-bottom West Ham, meanwhile, who began the night six points behind Leeds, led 1-0 at home to Manchester United but conceded a 96th-minute equaliser in a contest that ended in a 1-1 draw.
It’s all left Leeds six points clear of the dropzone but also a point and a place above Tottenham and four points ahead of fourth-bottom Nottingham Forest who host bottom-of-the-table Wolves in their game in hand on Wednesday night.
