Leeds United transfer rumours: Race against Premier League rivals for striker & star could exit in summer

The latest Leeds United transfer rumours as the club moves closer to another season of Premier League football.

Leeds United have been linked to many attackers of late and one they could turn their attention to in the summer is Derby County frontman Patrick Agyemang.

According to Football Insider, the Championship striker is wanted by the Yorkshire club, and the Rams would like around a hefty £20m for his services.

Leeds will have competition for the forward, however, with last year’s FA Cup winners, Crystal Palace, also eyeing a move for the 25-year-old.

The United States international has proven he can be productive in the second tier with 10 goals and three assists in 30 league games this season.

The Whites added well to their forward line last summer with free agents Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha firing in the goals to help Daniel Farke’s side push away from the relegation zone.

Now, with the club six points clear of the relegation zone with 11 Premier League games to go, they will be hoping to plan for another season in the top-flight and build for the years to come.

Piroe linked with summer exit

Last season’s promotion hero Joel Piroe could be set for a summer exit from Elland Road with his minutes limited since the club’s return to the Premier League.

After featuring in every Championship game last season and acting as a prolific goal threat with 19 goals and seven assists, Piroe has only appeared in 11 games in the league this season and was heavily linked with a move away to Scottish Premiership side Rangers in the January transfer window.

And Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider has revealed that the Dutchman could force his way out of the club with Rangers likely to reignite their interest in the summer.

One factor that could increase the likelihood of Piroe moving to Rangers is the fact that the two clubs have close ties to one another. Both Leeds and Rangers are under the control of the 49ers Enterprise and the Yorkshire club’s chairman, Paraag Marathe, is also vice-chair of the Glasgow club.

Another player looking to complete a permanent move away from Elland Road in the summer is Joe Gelhardt, who is enjoying his time away at Hull City, notching 11 goals and two assists in the Tigers’ unlikely promotion push.

TeamTalk believe that if Leeds retain their Premier League status, then they will allow the 23-year-old to leave the club if they receive an offer between £3-5m.
