Leeds United transfer round-up: Potential Buonanotte fee revealed amid interest in Napoli forward

The latest rumours from Elland Road as Leeds United learn Facundo Buonanotte permanent fee.

Leeds United must pay in excess of £20million in the summer to make Facundo Buonanotte’s loan move from Brighton permanent, according to reports.

The Argentine midfielder looked set to join the Whites in the summer, before U-turning to join Chelsea on loan at the last second. However, his time at Stamford Bridge was anything but a success, managing just 518 minutes over eight appearances across all competitions - with just one of those outings coming in the Premier League.

Nevertheless, Buonanotte still showed glimpses of his potential, registering a goal and an assist in the EFL Cup, and another assist in the FA Cup against Charlton in his final appearance for Chelsea.

Now, the 21-year-old is finally a Leeds player after the Yorkshire side took over Chelsea’s loan agreement from Brighton until the end of the season.

Leeds already eyeing up permanent Buonanotte deal

Leeds’ initial loan for Buonanotte doesn’t include a permanent option, but the club would like to sign him in the summer if they can maintain their Premier League status.

According to TEAMtalk, it would take a fee north of £20m to convince Brighton to sell the player, whose contract still has two-and-a-half years to run. At present, however, all parties have the luxury of being able to see how the rest of the season pans out.

“This is a great deal for all parties. Buonanotte and Leeds were close in the summer, and they really liked each other,” a source ‘close to the player’ is quoted as saying by TEAMtalk.

“Chelsea came in and Leeds understood that, but now the chance to link up together has been taken. As long as he fits in as expected, the full expectation from all sides is that he will be staying permanently in West Yorkshire.

“Leeds seem over-the-moon with this deal.”

Leeds eyeing up Noah Lang as winger duo linked with Elland Road exits

Leeds may not be done with attacking signings just yet.

Wingers Wilfried Gnonto and Jack Harrison have both been linked with moves away from Elland Road, and while neither have been regular starters this campaign, their departures would leave Daniel Farke short of depth.

According to AreaNapoli (via GiveMeSport), Leeds have identified Noa Lang as a potential option to bolster their forward line.

Lang enjoyed great success in Belgium and the Netherlands, registering 57 goals and 48 assists in 188 combined appearances for Club Brugge and PSV Eindhoven between 2020 and 2025, lifting four league titles along the way.

The Netherlands international left PSV to join Italian champions Napoli in the summer, but has started just seven Serie A matches this season, while managing only one goal and two assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.

Lang may well be looking for an escape route out of Naples after reported tensions with manager Antonio Conte, and it’s reported that long-time admirers Leeds have made an ‘initial approach’.

Napoli are open to letting Lang leave, but would prefer either a permanent transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy.
