Leeds United transfer news: £40m Liam Delap 'interest', Loan approach rejected, Wrexham Lukas Nmecha links
The latest Leeds United transfer news throughout the day including updates on Lukas Nmecha, Joe Rodon and Nico Elvedi.
Leeds United’s 2026/27 campaign kicks off in earnest today when Daniel Farke holds his pre-Nottingham Forest press conference.
The Whites boss will speak this afternoon ahead of Saturday’s trip to the City Ground and he’ll no doubt have plenty of transfer-related questions to answer. Wednesday was an intensely busy day at Elland Road with two outs, one in and a new contract signed.
Firstly, Joel Piroe joined West Ham United on loan for the season with the Championship club holding an obligation to buy if they are promoted. Sebastiaan Bornauw then moved to Hamburg, whose permanent clause is an option believed to be worth between £3-4million.

Bornauw’s replacement was quickly announced, with Nico Elvedi joining on a permanent deal from Borussia Monchengladbach. The Swiss international signed a three-year contract following the agreement of an initial £6.8m fee that could rise to £8.5m.
Elvedi is known to Farke from their time together at Monchengladbach and Leeds liked the 29-year-old for his experience and versatility. Their recruitment process identified that the defender had played regularly across all positions in the back three across club and country.
And Elvedi wasn’t the only player to sign a contract with Leeds yesterday. The club confirmed in the evening that Welsh defender Joe Rodon, whose initial terms were due to expire in 2028, put pen to paper on a new four-year deal to keep him at Elland Road until 2030.
Heading into today, there are reports of interest in one of Rodon’s 2025/26 teammates. Striker Lukas Nmecha, joined Leeds on a free from VfL Wolfsburg last summer, is reportedly on the radar of an ‘ambitious’ Championship promotion hopeful.
Nmecha scored seven goals in 37 games for Leeds last season, many of them crucial including late winners against Everton and Fulham. The 27-year-old has been regularly involved throughout pre-season and with Piroe already gone, another striker exit feels unlikely.
And as Farke prepares to hold his first press conference of the season, Leeds confirmed yet another huge piece of news with Jayden Bogle signing a new contract. Like Rodon, the right-back has put pen to paper on a four-year deal to keep him at Elland Road until 2030.
In terms of incomings, we know which positions Leeds want but there has been little noise away from their successful pursuit of Elvedi. A top-quality left-sided attacker is on the shopping list, as are depth options at striker, left-back and goalkeeper.
Stay tuned throughout the day for the latest Leeds United transfer updates...
