Leeds United transfer news: Nico Elvedi, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Joel Piroe developments

Leeds United transfer news throughout the day.

Leeds United are now approaching the final two weeks of the summer transfer window.

Here, we will bring you all of the Leeds United transfer news throughout the day following boss Daniel Farke’s confirmation that Nico Elvedi is close to signing as Sebastiaan Bornauw heads out of the exit door.

Swiss international defender Elvedi is set to join the Whites from Borussia Monchengladbach, news emerging on Saturday afternoon that Leeds had agreed a deal for his signature with the Bundesliga side.

The arrival of Elvedi is set to pave the way for United’s Belgian defender Bornauw to leave the club, the 27-year-old looking set to join Hamburg on an initial loan deal but with the German side having a purchase option.

Reports in Germany claim that Bornauw is flying to Hamburg on Sunday to have his medical.

News also emerged on Saturday evening via The Athletic that Joel Piroe was keen to leave Leeds but that his representatives felt that a reported £16m asking price was stopping interest.
