The summer transfer window officially opens on Monday by which point Leeds United can start doing business. In reality, the bulk of their transfer dealings will take place after the World Cup but discussions will have been underway for weeks and decisions will soon follow.
Incomings will inevitably grab the headlines but Leeds have some important decisions to make on current squad members - particularly those returning from a loan. Temporary moves were sanctioned for a number of reasons last season, from Max Wober’s out-of-favour status to Harry Gray’s desire for senior football.
Notwithstanding the triggering of any buy options, Leeds will welcome back - or have already welcomed back - eight first-team or what we’ll call senior academy players. Here’s what the YEP expects to happen to them all this summer.

1. SELL: Max Wober
The Austrian returns from Werder Bremen with one year left on his contract and any sale above £2m should at least see Leeds break even. That might be a difficult ask, however, given he played just three games last season. | Getty Images

2. SELL: Isaac Schmidt
Played more than Wober at Werder Bremen, albeit only six of his 19 Bundesliga games were starts. A permanent clause of around £2-3m could be triggered, which would again see Leeds effectively break even on a move that hasn't worked out. | Getty Images

3. LOAN: Charlie Crew
The youngster returned from his Doncaster loan in January and spent the second-half of last season with the U21s. Cannot return to youth football long-term having had senior exposure. Perhaps anther EFL loan. | Getty Images

4. SELL: Jack Harrison
A January loan to Fiorentina ended with one goal and three assists in 22 games, although questions have been asked whether the Serie A side would trigger a €7m permanent option. If not, a return to the MLS always feels possible. | Getty Images

5. SELL: Largie Ramazani
Impressed on loan at Valencia after a slow start, eventually registering six goals and one assist in 27 La Liga games. Unlike others, Ramazani feels like one that could have an impact at Leeds but having been on the fringes last summer, and with further attacking reinforcements expected, his position in the pecking order is unlikely to improve. Possibly time to cash in after a decent top-flight season in Spain. | Getty Images

6. SELL: Joe Gelhardt
Speaking of good seasons, Gelhardt's 15 goals on the way to promotion with Hull City should see Leeds bank more than the £3-4m they wanted a year ago. The Tigers actually need to sell first, but will surely be interested in a permanent deal - others will be in for him, too. | Getty Images
