"It's not enough" - Unai Emery's Leeds United declaration with Whites praise and Aston Villa issue

Unai Emery has served up Leeds United praise with an Aston Villa expectation and issue ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Daniel Farke’s Whites at Elland Road.

Five wins from Villa’s last six league games have propelled Emery’s side up to sixth place but the Villa boss has taken umbrage with his side’s results away from home ahead of Sunday’s trip to West Yorkshire.

The Villa boss has saluted his side’s general progress but highlighted his team’s away form as a particular ‘challenge’ following five points from a possible 15 on the road.

Villa now have the chance to improve their away haul in Sunday’s 2pm kick-off at Elland Road but Umery has declared that Leeds will be “very difficult” to beat in serving up praise for Farke’s side.

“It’s going to be very difficult”

“How we are performing away is not in the balance,” said Emery at Friday’s pre-match press conference, as quoted by Aston Villa’s official website.

“How we are competing, how we are progressing is really fantastic, but it’s not enough.

“Away from home is our challenge because in five matches we played away we have won against Tottenham, we drew two times and we lost two times.

“On Sunday, we’re respecting them a lot because it’s always very difficult away, and it’s always very difficult against Leeds at Elland Road.

“After the last results they had, they’re wishing to show and to play getting their good performance, good form and getting points.

“We are ready, but it’s going to be very difficult to beat them.”
