Opta predicts new final Premier League table: Where Leeds United, West Ham, Forest, Sunderland, Fulham finish

Data experts Opta have produced a new predicted final Premier League table following Leeds United’s defeat at Manchester City.

Leeds United ultimately failed in their latest bid to pick up points but so did key rivals and data experts Opta have now produced a new predicted final Premier League table.

Third-bottom Leeds arrived for Saturday afternoon’s clash at title-chasing Manchester City as massive underdogs after three straight defeats but gave Pep Guardiola’s side a scare before falling to a heart-breaking last gap 3-2 defeat.

The loss left Daniel Farke’s Whites in danger of being cut adrift in the bottom three ahead of Sunday games for fourth-bottom West Ham and fifth-bottom Nottingham Forest but the Irons and Forest both then fell to defeats.

West Ham suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Liverpool who finally got back in business whilst Forest failed to keep their good recent run going as Brighton left the City Ground with a 2-0 victory.

With second-bottom Burnley beaten 3-1 at Brentford on Saturday and Wolves then losing 1-0 at Aston Villa the next day, it has meant the entire bottom five all falling to defeats.

Fulham were the weekend’s big winners in the lower reaches of the division, Saturday evening’s 2-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur seeing the 15th-placed Cottagers boot five points clear of the bottom five and now six points ahead of Leeds.

After 13 games played, Leeds remain in the relegation on goal difference, one point ahead of second-bottom Burnley, level on points with West Ham and just a point behind Forest.

Wolves, though, remain eight points adrift at the bottom and nine behind the Whites.

Following the weekend’s results, stats experts Opta have produced a new predicted final table and points and here, featuring a Whites change, is the full new rundown in reverse order.
