Dan James
82: Looks like James and Nmecha are coming on. Fernandes then passes the ball out for a throw, he’s not been good.
More danger
80: Bijol fouls Wilson but it’s 30 yards out, free kick. Leeds clear but are camped back.
Sarcastic cheers, Summerville subbed
78: As Summerville is replaced - but then applause from a few as he comes off. Odd one. Mixed reception let’s say. Magasa and Walker-Peters on, Wan-Bissaka also subbed.
Leeds relief
78: Corner cleared but shot from the edge of the box spooned over the bar.
Leeds booking
77: Gruev takes one for the team, pulling back Paqueta to stop a counter.
BIG CHANCE WEST HAM
75: Wan-Bissaka cross from the right flies through the box, Wilson tries a flicked cross but Perri saves, should have scored, crowd getting restless.
Leeds sub
72: Tanaka off for Gruev, should help tighten things up a bit.
Awful free kick
71: Behind for a goal kick, not even close, what a waste
Danger
71: Hammers free kick edge of the area, foul by Longstaff
Bijol again
71: Big headed clearance, he is shining this half.
Gruev
69: Coming on for Leeds who are holding on a bit. If this was 2-1 you would be very nervous.
A bit of relief
68: Bogle interception and ball down the channel, DCL wins a throw. Perri then alert to clear a long ball back by West Ham.
Big tackle
66: By big Jaka Bijol to clear as Wilson looked to get in, behind for a corner which is cleared but all West Ham still. Leeds will do well to hold firm here.
Hammers subs
65: Potts on for Irving, Fernandes for Soucek
More West Ham pressure
64: This pattern looks set now, Leeds playing on the counter with men behind the ball as West Ham look to get through, cross from the left gathered by Perri.
Chance Leeds

CROSSBAR LEEDS
59: So unlucky Aaronson, long mazy run, shot edge of the box deflected on to the bar and behind for a corner which ends with a West Ham throw.

Jaka Bijol
53: Been pretty solid on his league debut, long way to go yet though.
Early spell
52: Survived by Leeds who are now passing it about again.
Early West Ham pressure
48: But Soucek is penalised for a foul. Leeds are being forced back. Crowd trying to get them going.
Leeds sub - injury?
Okafor off for Harrison
Players back out
West Ham were out early, probably after a rollicking from Nuno.
Half time report - chaotic half that could be anything
Leeds got off to a flying start by going ahead with just three minutes on the clock through Brenden Aaronson.
Ethan Ampadu surged forwards and Leeds worked the ball to Jayden Bogle whose lovely cross from the right picked out Noah Okafor who planted a firm header at goal.
Hammers keeper Alphonse Areola saved but the Frenchman could only push the ball back into the area and Aaronson reacted quickest to convert from close range.
West Ham already looked in disarray at the back but the Irons were still threatening at the other end and keeper Lucas Perri made a big double save to keep out a Jarrod Bowen overhead kick and then thwart Lucas Paqueta's attempt to convert the rebound.
It was a big moment as three minutes later his side doubled their lead in simple but clinical fashion as yet another Sean Longstaff corner picked out Joe Rodon who evaded non existent marking to head home.
New West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo looked appalled and Leeds quickly pressed for a third and threatened to get one on numerous occasions
.West Ham, though, continued to create chances themselves and the Irons looked to have pulled a goal back when Paqueta smashed home a fierce finish in a crowded box that went in off the bar.
Paqueta, however, was eventually flagged offside and VAR confirmed the decision after a lengthy delay due to the semi automated offside system not working.
Both sides then had further chances in a never ending half that went to 13 minutes of added time after two injury blows to West Ham's Oliver Scarles and Leeds left back Gabi Gudmundsson.
Gudmundsson fell awkwardly on his back midway through the half and tried to continue but the Swede was clearly struggling and eventually replaced by summer signing James Justin in the 44th minute.
Leeds United v West Ham: Perri; Bogle, Rodon, Bijol, Gudmundsson (Justin 44); Ampadu, Longstaff, Tanaka; Okafor, Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin. Subs: Darlow, Struijk, Gruev, Stach, Harrison, James, Nmecha, Piroe.
Half time
Never-ending half finally ends. 2-0. Wouldn’t say this is done yet, West Ham creating loads of chances, as are Leeds. Next goal key if there is one and probably will be.
Wasted chance Leeds
58: Ball breaks to Ampadu, Leeds attack in numbers but he can’t slip in Okafor, West Ham clear.
CHANCE WEST HAM
57: Soucek header wide, got up above Rodon, timed his jump well, from a Bowen cross
CHANCE LEEDS, good save
55: Aaronson lovely ball in behind the defence for Bogle, rising shot tipped over, corner cleared
CHANCE WEST HAM
55: Summerville involved again, Perri saves.
West Ham pressure
54: After Aaronson loses the ball but he redeems himself by getting an important interception in to stop Summerville getting away. It’s a bit frantic and scrappy when West Ham attack, not comfortable viewing.
Tanaka knock now
51: Caught by Paqueta late on his foot. Nasty one that, seems okay.
Man on a mission
50: Tanaka - scurrying around like mad. Very good half.
CHANCE LEEDS
48: Okafor cuts inside, floated effort just wide, Rodon with a lovely through ball for him. Looked in that.
CHANCE LEEDS
45: Rodon lovely ball down the right for Aaronson, cross just gathered by Aerola in front of DCL. Rodon having a blinder.
Added time
45: THIRTEEN MINUTES. Brilliant strong defending by Rodon to brush off Paqueta.
Gudmundsson treatment. Leeds sub
43: On the pitch but he’s going off, he fell awkwardly on his back and he’s being helped off. James Justin on in his place.
Gudmundsson struggling
42: Holding his lower back and clearly struggling. Justin getting ready.
Summerville booked
40: Late challenge on Longstaff, no malice in it, just late, holds his hands up.
CHANCE LEEDS, Ampadu mazy run
39: Didn’t see that one coming, runs all the way to the West Ham box, cuts inside, good chance, awful finish well wide, fine run
CHANCE WEST HAM
38: Bowen cuts in from the right and fires just wide, a let off as Longstaff passed the ball to him. Gudmundsson takes a knock but seems okay, back by the looks of it. Leeds not looking bankers for a clean sheet here.
NO GOAL!!!
37: Huge cheers. Took an age to check that. Nuno just looks upset. Messy defending and ball came to Paqueta who smashed ball home off the bar but he was offside, just. Perri ran over to the assistant referee who eventually put his flag up.
DISALLOWED GOAL!
35: Paqueta smashes one home but flag eventually goes up although it’s being checked. He’s offside but Bogle may have got a touch here.
CHANCE LEEDS
32 : Cross from Gudmundsson for Aaronson, defender just gets a foot in. Gudmundsson yet again looking the business. Cheers as Summerville loses the ball out for a throw.
CHANCE LEEDS
30: Fine move, Tanaka fires over from the edge of the box. He started the move in his own half too with a lovely turn, this could be over by half time. DCL square ball to set up the chance.
Bit of a scare
27: As Rodon heads a long ball back to Perri, slowly, Wilson was closing in but couldn’t get there. Terrible backheel then from Diouf, out for a throw. West Ham really do not look good at all, the class of the forwards aside.
Hammers sub
25: Scarles off for Wilson. Scarles walking off around the pitch and arm looks in a bad way, two men helping him off. Summerville has now swapped sides.
Fair bit of concern here
24: Stretcher is out but Scarles eventually helped up, has oxygen, Rodon on the scene checking him too.
Injury
21: Scarles down for West Ham, a bad fall on his shoulder. Looks done. Callum Wilson coming on. So a change of formation, Nuno might as well, Scarles is a wing back so it’s a striker for a defender.
Nuno
20: Just looks baffled by this and you can almost see the cogs whirring in his head thinking what am I supposed to do here. That Perri save was a big moment. Fantastic technique by Bowen.
Machine at corners, who needs Gabriel?
14: Simple as you like, really neat delivery from Longstaff, looked dangerous as it went in, marking is rubbish and Rodon gets space to nod the ball home. Again.
GOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
14: RODON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More Leeds pressure
13: Longstaff beats Wan-Bissaka with a strong challenge, ball gets loose. Aaronson cross hacked clear. Nuno is stood with his hands on his hips. Gudmundsson wins a corner. Longstaff taking.
Great header in the crowd
12: Chap in the West Stand heads the ball back to the pitch after a clearance, gets cheers.
BIG SAVE!
10: Perri to deny Bowen from an overhead kick. Straight at him but came quick, pushed it away, then reacted to parry the ball away from Paqueta, looked like 1-1 that. From a Summerville cross on the right. Big moment.
“Sack the board”
Chant from the West Ham end, they’ve had enough.
Hefty one
8: Tanaka catches Irving with a hard aerial challenge, flattens him but deemed a fair one, Leeds pushing for a second. Fireworks still going off and getting cheered each time.
Bogle the creator
4: Lovely floated cross from the right after a burst forward from Ampadu, Okaofor wins a header, a powerful one, Areola saves but can only push the ball back into the area and Aaronson is quickest to react to convert, fireworks going off at the same time as the stadium erupts. Nuno looks mortified. Goal survived a VAR check.
GOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLL!!!!!!!!!!
4: AARONSON!!!!! What a start.
UNDERWAY!
1: Bowen gets the night going. Noisy. Impeccable rendition of The Last Post beforehand. Leeds kicking towards the South Stand first half, Perri gathers an early cross. Fireworks going off in the background, we are Leeds coming from all sides of the ground. Leeds with the ball early
Here we gooooo
Teams out at Elland Road. Terrific atmosphere, of course. Boos for the Premier League anthem.
Few boos
For Summerville as his name is read out in the teams, not as bad as Adams though. Tanaka gets the biggest Leeds cheer.
All set at Elland Road
Warm ups done, they say they are all big etc etc but this game feels huge. Feels like must win to be honest.
Warm ups underway - team news reaction
Darlow probably a bit unlucky to come out of the side but Perri was not cheap and bought to be first choice. Aaronson over James is the main talking point but presumably James still isn’t fully fit. Okafor back in a huge boost, no surprise that Harrison drops out. Bijol for Struijk looked obvious and about time he got a chance with no clean sheets lately. Stach has had problems with his ribs and a hand injury but was poor at Burnley so a swap for Tanaka also looks the right call. Feels like Leeds will win this IF they can keep Bowen, Paqueta and Summerville relatively quiet, hard to call though.
Hammers team - Summerville starts - he, Bowen and Paqueta huge threats
Team news in full
Four changes
Leeds United v West Ham: Perri; Bogle, Rodon, Bijol, Gudmundsson; Ampadu, Longstaff, Tanaka; Okafor, Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin. Subs: Darlow, Justin, Struijk, Gruev, Stach, Harrison, James, Nmecha, Piroe.
A triple boost
Looking good, stage is set
Good evening from Elland Road, a huge night
Leeds team news
Whites boss Daniel Farke was facing late calls on four key men in captain Ethan Ampadu, Pascal Struijk, Noah Okafor and Willy Gnonto. Ampadu and Struijk missed team training on Wednesday due to illness, leaving question marks about their availability to face the Hammers. Gnonto had minor hernia surgery during the international break and missed last weekend’s defeat at Burnley along with Okafor who was out with a groin issue. Neither were able to complete whole team training this week and Farke said at Wednesday’s pre-match press conference that late decisions would be made. The Whites boss said it was perhaps more realistic for Okafor to be involved given that Gnonto had previously been out with a calf injury. Young striker Harry Gray, meanwhile, returned to training this week upon his recovery from a hip flexor issue.
Predicted Leeds line-up: Perri; Bogle, Rodon, Bijol, Gudmundsson; Ampadu, Longstaff, Stach; James, Okafor, Calvert-Lewin.
