Leeds United now sit in the Premier League dropzone but only on difference and stats experts Opta have made a big fresh Whites call in their new predicted final table and points.
Daniel Farke’s side dropped into the relegation zone for the first time this season on Saturday after victory for Nottingham Forest at Liverpool and a draw for West Ham at Bournemouth.
It meant Leeds needed a point from Sunday’s hosting of Aston Villa to get out of the dropzone but the Whites fell to a third-straight defeat as a Morgan Rogers brace sealed a 2-1 win for Unai Emery’s side despite Lukas Nmecha’s Whites opener.
After 12 games played, Leeds sit third-bottom, one point ahead of second-bottom Burnley and behind fourth-bottom West Ham on goal difference. Farke’s Whites are a point behind fifth-bottom Nottingham Forest and only two points behind 15th-placed Fulham.
Apart from marooned Wolves, it’s still tight in the lower reaches of the division but Opta have made a big fresh Whites call in their new predicted final table and points. Here, in reverse order, is the full new rundown.
Wolves are now eight points adrift at the foot of the table, nine points behind Leeds and safety.
