Latest on Elland Road development plans
Leeds could be much higher than this, and soon enough, it'll be their turn to enjoy the delights of a 50,000+ stadium. The Whites have secured planning permission to expand Elland Road's capacity to 53,000.
The project involves major redevelopment of the North and West Stands, with changes also planned for the South Stand. Works have begun, with construction scheduled to follow the 2025/26 season. The project will be completed in phases to allow the team to keep playing at Elland Road, with full completion targeted for around 2030.
The proposal is part of a masterplan to regenerate the surrounding area of South Leeds, including improved transport infrastructure. The cost is estimated to be between £130 million and £150 million.
The project aims to help solve Leeds' season ticket waiting list, which currently stands at over 26,000 supporters.
