Leeds United have received the ultimate backing as they head to Sunderland with a huge boost expected in the club’s Championship promotion bid.
Daniel Farke’s Whites had to settle for a point via a 1-1 draw in Tuesday night’s clash at a Norwich City side sat just outside of the division’s play-off places and Leeds now face a trip to early leaders Sunderland on Friday night. The Black Cats recorded their sixth victory of the new Championship season on Tuesday evening with a 2-0 triumph at home to Derby County and sit on 18 points after eight games played.
Leeds, though, have received the ultimate backing from the bookmakers ahead of their trip to the Stadium of Light for which they are favourites despite facing what could be viewed as the toughest test that the division has to offer based on current standings.
Leeds, who remain clear title favourites, are as short as 21-20 and no bigger than 13-10 to leave Sunderland with all three points for a huge boost that would send the injury hit Whites into the division’s automatic promotion places ahead of the weekend’s remaining games. Despite their impressive start, Sunderland can be backed at 9-4 and the draw is on offer at 5-2.
