The virus forced manager Steve Cotterill into hospital, where he is still recovering after a period in intensive care.

The 56-year-old will watch his side’s trip to St Mary’s from his hospital bed, with assistant manager Aaron Wilbraham taking charge.

Leeds were due to host the Saints on Wednesday but agreed to move the fixture to a later date last week ahead of this weekend’s fourth round matches.

No re-scheduled date has been arranged yet, though the YEP understands it is likely to take place in February.

The Whites’ next game is a week on Tuesday when they travel north to face Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men were knocked out of the FA Cup by League Two side Crawley Town, hence their free weekend.
