Castleford Tigers have named a 21-man squad for Friday’s visit of Hull KR amid suggestions Ryan Carr will not be coaching the team.

A Love Rugby League report on Tuesday evening claimed Carr has been stood down and won’t take charge of the side this week. That remains unconfirmed by the club, though a statement is expected.

Scrum-half Tom Weaver drops out of the squad for Friday after suffering a concussion during last week’s defeat by Warrington Wolves. Winger Jason Qareqare missed that game because of a hamstring problem and also makes way. Youngsters Corey Sharpe and Alfie Salmon have been drafted in and will make their debut if named in the matchday 17.
