Castleford Tigers confirm 5 player departures including Daejarn Asi and Joe Westerman
Castleford Tigers have confirmed the departure of five first team players.
The club today (Wednesday) said forwards Joe Westerman, Joe Stimson and Sam Hall, hooker Cain Robb and stand-off Daejarn Asi will leave at the end of the current Betfred Super League season. Tigers complete their campaign away to Huddersfield Giants on Saturday, when they might need to win to avoid finishing bottom of the table.
A brief club statement said: “We’d like to thank the guys for all their efforts in a Cas shirt and wish them all the best for the future.” All five are in the final year of their contract and Hall’s exit - to join Toulouse Olympique - had already been announced.

Westerman, 36, is the most experienced of the leaving players. The former England international began his career with Tigers in 2007 and had spells at Hull FC, Warrington Wolves, Toronto Wolfpack and Wakefield Trinity before returning to his hometown club four years ago.
Australian Stimson, 30, joined Castleford from NRL club Gold Coast Titans midway through last season. Fellow import Asi, a 26-year-old Samoa Test player, was signed from Parramatta Eels ahead of the 2025 campaign.
Hall, 24 and Robb, 23, and Hall both came through Tigers’ academy system, making their senior debut in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
