Castleford Tigers news: ex-St Helens and Hull FC forward Jack Ashworth makes Championship loan move
A Castleford Tigers forward has made a loan move into the Championship.
Second-rower Jack Ashworth will spend the next month with Doncaster. His move comes in the same week back-rower Sam Grice joined Hunslet RLFC on loan until the end of this season.
Ashworth, 30, joined Tigers from Hull FC in pre-season on a two-year deal, but has made only five Betfred Super League appearances this term, most recently against his previous club two months ago. His former sides include St Helens, Huddersfield Giants and a loan spell at Featherstone Rovers.

Castleford director of rugby Chris Chester said: “Fierce competition for places in our pack in recent weeks has meant Jack hasn’t played for a few games. We felt this loan was a good chance to help Jack to maintain his match fitness at a competitive level so he can stay sharp and ready to return to our first team when called upon.”
