Castleford Tigers sign Grand Final winner on loan from Wigan Warriors
Castleford Tigers have signed a former Grand Final winner on loan from Wigan Warriors.
Hooker Tom Forber, 22, will spend the next month at Castleford, though Wigan have a recall option after seven days. Tigers’ number nine Liam Hood didn’t feature in last Saturday’s 72-6 hammering at Warrington Wolves and is not in a 19-man initial squad for the home clash with Bradford Bulls on Thursday.
Forber’s arrival was confirmed after Castleford’s squad was announced and he could be drafted in as Tigers bid for only their second win of 2026. Forber has made 20 first team appearances for Wigan, including the 2024 Betfred Super League Grand Final when they beat Hull KR.

He also has experience with Oldham, Newcastle Thunder, Whitehaven RLFC, Wakefield Trinity, Widnes Vikings and Barrow Raiders. Wigan coach Matt Peet said: “This is a good opportunity for Tom to get good minutes at Super League intensity and show what he is capable of.”
