Catalans Dragons v Leeds Rhinos: Brad Arthur keen to end barren run at earliest opportunity
Brad Arthur has joked that Leeds Rhinos will happily take the first two points on offer against Catalans Dragons as they bid to end their scoring drought in Perpignan.
The Super League leaders have been kept scoreless on each of their previous three visits to Stade Gilbert Brutus, including Arthur's first trip as head coach last season. However, the Australian insists he is far more interested in the performance than a quirky statistic.
"I tend not to focus too much on those records," he said.
"But if we get a penalty in goal-kicking range, we'll be taking it straight up. I made that mistake last year and won't be doing it again.
"Records are always there to be broken. We're focusing on a good performance and putting on a show for our travelling fans."
While Leeds have reeled off 11 wins in 12 games to move clear at the top of Super League, Catalans are fresh from a humiliating 60-18 defeat to Toulouse Olympique.
Arthur has braced his team for a response from the Dragons on home turf tonight.
"I'm not reading into last weekend's game," he said. "I know that much. They're a different team than that.

"There's the bounce-back factor, which everyone is aware of. They're a big, strong, powerful team playing at home.
"We can expect a real energised and enthusiastic start. That's what we're getting ourselves ready for.
"It's very hard to produce a full 80-minute performance. Every team is chasing it and striving for it but it's extremely hard to achieve.
"We've just got to try and minimise the damage when we have a couple of concentration lapses like we did last week in a game where we were totally dominant."

Maika Sivo stands on the brink of history after scoring for the 10th successive game in Leeds' emphatic Magic Weekend win over Bradford Bulls.
Another try in Perpignan would see him equal the Super League record set by Richard Horne in 2006.
"Everyone is aware of all the records he's in line for," said Arthur, who saw Ash Handley gift Sivo a late try at Everton. "It's not spoken about but I'm sure if there's an opportunity for the boys to help him out, they will.
"But we're not going out of our way and our performances aren't based around trying to get the ball to Maika to score. He's a beneficiary of a lot of good things the rest of the boys are doing."
