Coach praises Castleford Tigers loan men as Hunslet RLFC chase 3rd successive win

An on-loan Castleford Tigers duo are impressing for Hunslet RLFC.

Hunslet visit Sheffield Eagles in the Betfred Championship tomorrow (Sunday) looking for a third successive win, following victories over Dewsbury Rams and Keighley Cougars. Tigers forwards Aiden Doolan and Sam Grice have played their part and the south Leeds side’s coach Kyle Trout is pleased with their contribution. He said: “Sam is at all our training sessions [and] both lads are loving it.”

Eagles away is a difficult challenge, but Trout is confident his side can continue their impressive run. “Sheffield beat us earlier in the season, but we were well in that game,” he recalled.

“There’s no reason not to win. We’ve beaten Newcastle and should have won at Widnes. If we’re confident, battle hard and show some fight, then Sheffield are not perfect and we can

get at them. We go into Sunday off the back of two wins and we feel confident.”

The Parksiders will be without on-loan Blake Broadbent who is not allowed to play against his parent club. Jayden Hatton and Mackenzie Turner are ruled out, but Dan Abram, Lee Gaskell and Harrison Gilmore could return, subject to fitness tests.

“Mackenzie is a big miss as he has been excellent and is forming an exciting partnership with Myles Harrop,” Trout said of the winger. “We have the loan lads available and plenty of

middles so we should have a stronger team out than last week. Play to plan and this is a game we can win.”
