Disciplinary news: match review panel ban 3 following Wakefield Trinity v Wigan Warriors Challenge Cup tie

Three players have been banned following Wakefield Trinity’s Challenge Cup loss to Wigan Warriors yesterday.

The RFL’s match review panel today issued seven charges to six individuals over incidents in last weekend’s quarter-finals, four of them from Trinity’s 26-22 defeat. The game’s main flashpoint saw Trinity’s substitute forward Jazz Tevaga sin-binned in the first half for kicking Wigan winger Liam Marshall. The Wakefield man, who was on the ground with leg injury, was then shoved by the Warriors half-back Harry Smith. Other incidents included an alleged butt by Wigan’s Sam Walters on rival forward Jay Pitts.

Players have until noon tomorrow to challenge the review panel’s findings. Any appeals will be heard later the same day, but a failed challenge will result in an additional one-match suspension. Here’s the full list of charges.
