Former Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity men Ethan Clark-Wood and Jorge Taufua find new clubs
Former Leeds Rhinos back Ethan Clark-Wood has linked up with a new club.
The Australian spent 2025 at Leeds after being signed on the eve of the campaign when winger Maika Sivo suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury which kept him out of the entire season. Clark-Wood had been training with NRL outfit Gold Coast Titans and was set to play in the second-tier Queensland Cup for Tweed Seagulls until Rhinos stepped in.
He made one first team appearance, away to Catalans Dragons, but suffered his own injury problems and wasn’t kept on when his contract expired in the autumn. The 25-year-old has now joined Queensland Cup club Ipswich Jets and played three times so far, making his debut off the bench before two games as a starting centre.

Ex-St Helens back Moses Mbye is among his teammates and Clark-Wood’s latest appearances was in a 38-24 home loss to a Western Clydesdales side which included ex-Leeds Grand Final and Dream Team hooker Matt Parcell. Also now playing lower level rugby league in Australia is former Wakefield Trinity winger Jorge Taufua.
The 34-year-old, who has been capped by both Tonga and Samoa, was a high profile signing by Trinity from NRL outfit Manly Sea Eagles in 2022. He scored one try in an injury-hit 14 game spell for Wakefield before being released from his contract and moving to Bradford Bulls, who were then in the Championship. Taufua recently rejoined his first club, Wentworthville Magpies, who play in the New South Wales-based Ron Massey Cup, which is the third level of the Australian game.
