Funeral of ex-Wakefield Trinity, Hull FC coach John Kear to be streamed online
The funeral of former Wakefield Trinity and Hull FC coach John Kear takes place in South Yorkshire tomorrow (Friday) and will be streamed live online for mourners who can’t attend.
Castleford-born Kear died suddenly three weeks ago, the day after working for the BBC as a pundit at the Challenge Cup final. He was 71.
His funeral will be held at St John’s Church, Penistone, near Barnsley, at noon, followed by a private committal. The service will be relayed on a big screen outside the church and livestreamed via this link.
There will be a wake for Kear’s family and friends at The Huntsman Pub in Thurlstone. His family have requested donations in lieu of flowers, to West Yorkshire Dog Rescue.
