King Vuniyayawa granted visa to play for Leeds Rhinos - set to arrive in UK within two weeks

New signing King Vuniyayawa could arrive in England within the next two weeks after receiving his visa to play for Leeds Rhinos.

The 25-year-old Fijian forward signed a one-year contract last month, after making five NRL appearances for New Zealand Warriors in 2020.

He is Rhinos' second pre-season signing, after Kiwi Test forward Zane Tetevano.

Vuniyayawa has played three times for Fiji and is in contention to feature in this autumn's World Cup.

He is the first Fiji-born player to sign for Rhinos.

Tetevano, who is training with his former club Penrith Panthers, has also received a visa and is expected to fly to England this month, along with Leeds' 2020 player of the year Matt Prior.

Under current rules, both players will have to go into quarantine after arriving in the UK.
