Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers players boost Championship side as ex-Hull KR man comes in on trial
Loan players from Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers are set to give Hunslet RLFC a boost in today’s daunting test against London Broncos.
Leeds forward Joe Butterfield is set to return for Hunslet and hooker Aiden Doolan will feature after this week’s move from Tigers. Butterfield faces a one-game suspension after being sent-off playing for Rhinos’ reserves last week, but the punishment applies after this weekend.
Back Josh Ratuvou, a product of Hull KR’;s academy and reserves who has been playing for Hull Rugby Union Club, is on trial with the Parksiders and could also feature in the 3pm kick-off at Ebbsfleet Football Club. Cam Berry and Dan Abram have joined the south Leeds side’s injury list and drop out from the team beaten 40-14 at Workington Town last Sunday.
Broncos are clear at the top of the Betfred Championship and have won all their 15 league matches so far. Hunslet coach Kyle Trout admitted: “The performance [last] Sunday wasn’t good enough.

“We didn’t show the fight, discipline or toughness that this club demands and everyone inside that dressing room knows that. We know exactly what we’re up against; London are flying, they are a top side and will punish you if you don’t turn up, but that’s exactly why we need to front up.”
He stressed: “This game is about character. When things are tough, that’s when you find out what people are made of. The supporters deserve better.
“They deserve a team that competes for every ball, fights for every yard and leaves everything out there. It is an absolute minimum if you want to wear the myrtle, white and flame shirt.”
