Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow receives Covid vaccination

LEEDS RHINOS legend Rob Burrow has had his first Covid vaccination and urged others who get the chance to follow suit.

The former Great Britain scrum-half, 38, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2019 and is classed as “vulnerable” with regards the pandemic.

He had the injection at Castleford Civic Centre and told the BBC: “I’m so pleased to have had my Covid vaccine today.

“I have Motor neurone disease and there is no cure. I don’t want to be fighting Covid as well.

“The team was so lovely and they are doing their very best to protect us all .

“I would encourage everyone that when you get the call to go and get the vaccine.

“Make sure you do as we need to protect the NHS and save as many lives as possible.”
