Leeds Rhinos v Wigan Warriors sold out as Super League leaders' shield decider draws capacity 19,000 crowd
Leeds Rhinos’ winner-takes-all clash with visitors Wigan Warriors on Saturday is officially sold out.
Rhinos today (Thursday) confirmed a capacity 19,698 crowd will watch the top-two clash which is a likely decider for the Betfred Super League leaders’ shield. The winners will go into next weekend’s final round of the regular season with a two-point advantage at the top of the table.
It is AMT Headingley’s first Super League full house since the opening round of the 2020 season when the stadium hosted a double header between Toronto Wolfpack and Castleford Tigers before Rhinos played Hull FC. It will also be the highest attendance for a meeting between the sides since December 11, 1994 when 20,053 saw Leeds beat Wigan 33-28.

Rhinos have urged members who can’t attend to email [email protected] so their tickets can be released for sale. They have also appealed for fans not to buy tickets from links on social media.
Saturday will be the third time in five games Rhinos have played in front of a capacity crowd, after the away games against Wakefield Trinity and York Knights. Chief executive Jamie Jones-Buchanan described the sell out as “fantastic news not just for Leeds Rhinos, but also the sport as a whole”. He said: “Leeds versus Wigan is always one of the biggest games of the year, but with so much at stake for both teams, this feels very special.
“I am sure a large travelling band of Wigan fans will add to the atmosphere, but I know from my playing days how special it is to run out in front of a sea of Rhinos fans and the lift that gives you. Those lucky enough to have a ticket will be in for a brilliant night and I am sure both teams will produce a performance the thousands watching at home on Sky Sports will be enthralled to see.”
