Leeds Rhinos youngster joins West Yorkshire Championship club

Leeds Rhinos reserves player Elliott Fox has moved into semi-professional rugby at Batley Bulldogs.

Fox, a product of the Stanningley amateur club in Leeds, was part of Rhinos’ scholarship and joined their academy ahead of the 2024 season. After recovering from a long-term back injury, he played for the reserves in last year’s Grand Final win against Warrington Wolves and featured with the under-18s when they lost to the same club in the academy decider a week later.

The hooker’s final Leeds appearance was for the reserves in last month’s play-off semi-final when they were beaten by a golden-point penalty goal at Warrington Wolves, after Fox’s try had opened the scoring. A Bulldogs statement said: “We are delighted to announce the signing of young hooker, Elliott Fox. Elliott arrives at the Bulldogs following a stellar rise through the Leeds Rhinos pathway, where he recently made waves in their reserve side.”
