Leeds rugby league club duo charged following stormy Challenge Cup derby as Bradford Bulls man banned

Two Stanningley players have been charged following the community club’s stormy Betfred Challenge Cup derby with Hunslet.

Fraser Stroud (attempted striking) and Jamaine Ruan (other contrary behaviour) were both accused of grade C offences by the RFL’s match review panel after being sent off in their side’s 44-0 defeat. They each received five penalty points and were fined, but not suspended. Hunslet’s Matty Dawson-Jones, was sent-off, was not charged. He announced his retirement this week after just two games for the club.

Bradford Bulls’ Connor Wynne will miss next weekend’s Cup tie at London Broncos after being charged with grade B head contact during the Cameron Smith testimonial game at Leeds Rhinos. The incident left Leeds’ Chris Hankinson with a fractured nose and Wynne was handed six penalty points and banned for one game.
