St Helens call for investigation into Wakefield Trinity claims of bid for Harry Robertson

St Helens have hit back at Wakefield Trinity over the West Yorkshire side’s interest in star centre Harry Robertson.

Trinity coach Daryl Powell yesterday said Saints had turned down a bid for the highly-rated 20-year-old - but the Merseyside outfit insist that is not true and have asked the RFL to investigate.

A Saints statement said: “Contrary to public statements made by Wakefield Trinity in relation to Harry Robertson, a player contracted long-term to St.Helens, the club has received no contact or communication whatsoever from Wakefield Trinity. Nor would we entertain any.

“We have reported this matter to the RFL's compliance department for their review and, if merited, appropriate action should be taken. St Helens RFC will make no further comment while this matter is under review."
