Wakefield Trinity confirm rejected bid for St Helens' Harry Robertson but search for centre/winger continues
Wakefield Trinity coach Daryl Powell hasn’t ruled out another attempt to sign St Helens wonder kid Harry Robertson.
Speaking at his preview press conference today (Thursday) ahead of this weekend’s game against Huddersfield Giants, Powell confirmed Trinity have had a big-money bid for the 20-year-old - who is contracted until the end of 2028 - rejected by Saints. “That’s true,” Powell said of a report by Love Rugby League.
“He was a player we were interested in - and who wouldn’t be? We made an offer and Saints declined it. That’s up to them, but we really like him and think he’s a high-quality player.”

Trinity are still looking for a centre or wing to join them in 2027. Powell added: “Pratty [Oliver Pratt] is a really good winger and potentially a centre as well. We have been looking at outside-back - centre/wing - as an option for next year and we are still on the look out. We are keen on Harry, but we will see what happens.”
Asked if Trinity’s interest in Robertson is “dead in the water”, Powell admitted: “I don’t know, we will wait and see.”
Widnes-born Robertson, a former England academy international, made his Saints debut in 2024 and was a Betfred Super League young player of the year nominee last season, when he scored 16 tries.
