Wakefield Trinity news: forward released by mutual consent after loan spell at Bradford Bulls

Wakefield Trinity have released a member of their first team squad.

Trinity today (Wednesday) confirmed hooker Thomas Doyle, 27, has left the club by ‘mutual consent’. The Leeds-born forward played for Bradford Bulls and Keighley Cougars before joining Wakefield ahead of the 2024 season.

His 34 appearances included the 1895 Cup final victory at Wembley two years ago, when he was among Trinity’s try scorers, but he has been hit by injuries over the last couple of seasons.

He didn’t feature for Wakefield this term, but rejoined Bradford last month and has played in their past two games. Trinity director of rugby Ste Mills said: “We’d like to thank Doyley for all his hard work and dedication over the past three seasons.

"He has been a great professional to have as part of the club’s revival and return to Super League. As a club, we wish him well on the next part of his rugby league journey.”
