Christmas has come around for another year and, if you’re like some of us in the YEP newsroom, you might also be surprised just how quickly it’s arrived - admittedly, after what has felt like a very elongated (and eventful) 2025.
While the dinner table might be the cornerstone of Christmas Day, the prelude to the big occasion naturally needs a giant, symbolic landmark in your living room, and while some might opt for an Elf on a Shelf or even a knee-high Nutcracker, there’s “nowt more traditional” than the tried-and-tested Christmas tree.
While some high-street retailers may offer discounted deals, why not make an adventure of picking up this year’s spruce by eschewing the shopping aisle and instead heading out to one of the many Christmas tree farms that are still offering up their services so close to Christmas?
We’ve looked at nine that are a short drive away from Leeds that not only offer the items in question, but in some cases an incredible day out with reindeer, tractor rides and, for those areas a little further afield (we have two on the list), complementary hot chocolate and expert wreath makers for that truly bespoke piece of Christmas décor this year.
