This year marks 400 years since King Charles I granted Leeds its first Royal Charter shaping the city we know and love today.
And over the weekend the streets parks and public squares came alive with music, food and a sense of community as part of a programme of events.
Meanwhile schools across the city are today burying time capsules to mark the milestone to offer thought provoking messages to future pupils.
Our photographer Steve Riding was out across the city this weekend to soak up the milestone celebrations.
