A TV quiz show question about chocolate bars left a Wakefield contestant in despair over the weekend. Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win had a sprinkling of Yorkshire charm in its latest episode.

The thrilling ITV programme is back for a fifth series and a pair of friends from Yorkshire took on the challenge. Ordinary people have the chance to climb up the limitless ladder - and potentially win a life-changing prize.

Friends Abbi, 30, and Amy, 32, from Wakefield and Castleford, were the latest contestants to take on the challenge. However, it did not go to plan.

The duo, who met through a women’s football team, appeared on Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win on Sunday (February 8) night’s episode.

Speaking about her strategy, Wakefield’s Abbi explained: “We’ve been practising with the football girls asking us questions and we seem to have very different specialist subjects. Hopefully we can share our knowledge and do well!

“Our strategy is to trust each other. I don’t think we’ll be playing it safe as we would love to win lots of money that could change our lives!”

Abbi, who is an account manager for a recruitment company in the health sector in her day job, had high ambitions heading into the show. She said: “I know the most that’s ever been won is a million, so we would love to break the record and get 1.5 million.

“I’d certainly give some to family and friends and then put a deposit on a house.”

Unfortunately, things did not go to plan for the Yorkshire pair. Having made it past the first question, they were quickly tripped up by one about a chocolate bar.

Our sister website NationalWorld reports that for the second question, Dec asked: “If the two chocolate bars in a standard 50g pack of Twix were laid end to end, what would the total length be in centimetres?”

Castleford resident Amy, who is an operations executive, told the host that she had measured a KitKat “last week”. She explained: “The KitKats were around 11cm, I feel like it’s a bit bigger than that.”

Having decided on 22cm, as that was double a KitKat, they were unfortunately greeted by the board turning red - meaning they left without winning a penny. Did you manage to guess it right?

The correct answer turned out to be 19cm. Well done if you got it!
