This summer’s Piece Hall gigs was kicked off in style thanks to a group of indie icons.

Shed Seven treated a sold-out crowd to a very special anniversary show at the iconic Halifax landmark last night.

Starting with ‘Dirty Soul’, ‘Dolphin’, ‘Speakeasy’ and ‘Ocean Pie’, frontman Rick Witter then donned a red sequined shirt to launch into ‘A Maximum High’s’ explosive opening number ‘Getting Better’ to the delight of 6,000 fans.

‘Magic Streets’, ‘Where Have You Been Tonight’, ‘Going For Gold’,’ ‘Bully Boy’ and ‘On Standby’ followed before an incredible album finale ‘Parallel Lines’.

The band returned to the stage for an encore which included ‘Disco Down’ and the anthemic ‘Chasing Rainbows’.

Rick Witter told the crowd: “What an incredible night. The Piece Hall is an amazing place – we will be back!”

Shed Seven were joined on the night by special guests Seb Lowe and The Guest List.
