Recently reunited indie legends The Maccabees set for only northern date at Leeds' Kirkstall Abbey in 2026
Renowned indie rock quartet The Maccabees have been announced as the latest headliner for the Live at Kirkstall Abbey concert series, returning to Leeds in summer 2026.
In what will be their only northern date on a major outdoor summer tour, the recently reunited band is set to take to the stage at the city’s historic landmark in July next year.
The announcement comes as the Live at Kirkstall Abbey series prepares to return to the historic venue for two weekends next summer, joining previously confirmed headline shows from British multi-hyphenates The Streets and reunited Leeds indie heroes The Sunshine Underground.

The Maccabees’ much-anticipated return, following their previous sign-off in 2017, has been nothing short of triumphant. This summer, headline gigs at All Points East and Glastonbury’s Park Stage have reaffirmed their status as one of the 21st century's primary indie acts.
Guitarist Felix White shared his excitement, saying: “The year we’ve just had was so special to all of us, and so unexpected, that it has put some momentum in everyone collectively …. and who wouldn’t want to do all that again.”
The Maccabees will play at Kirkstall Abbey on Friday, July 31, 2026. General sale opens at 10am on Friday, November 28 here.
