Mongolian horse warriors invade Leeds' Royal Armouries, showcasing thrilling combat techniques this summer
Mongolian hordes have invaded the Royal Armouries in Leeds for an exhilarating free display this summer.
The museum’s dockside tiltyard, known for hosting legendary jousts in front of live audiences, will, from today, host a daily live Mongolian horse show.

Staged alongside the special exhibition Genghis Khan: How the Mongols Changed the World, the shows will provide a mix of entertainment and education.
Spectators can enjoy spectacular riders demonstrating the many techniques Mongol horsemen used to build their empire, which at its height stretched from the Sea of Japan to Eastern Europe.
Running twice daily, the show will feature combat techniques ranging from mounted archery to two-handed maces.
Guests can then head inside the museum and follow a trail through the Asian and African Gallery featuring the Mongolian messenger and scout, Batu the Fast.
There is also the opportunity to build your own paper ger, a traditional Mongolian yurt.
The Mongolian horse shows will run daily at 11am and 2pm from July 22 to August 31.
