WWE Monday Night Raw: UK start time and matches announced as John Cena's last opponent revealed

John Cena’s final opponent is set to address the WWE Universe less than a week before their epic encounter on this evening’s WWE Raw.

  • John Cena’s final WWE opponent is among the names set to appear on this evening’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.
  • There is also a World Tag Team Championship match where the opponents look to capture the titles they never ‘really lost.’
  • Here’s your WWE Monday Night Raw preview, UK start time and who John Cena’s final opponent will be at this weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.

We are six days away from one of the all-time WWE greats deciding to finally hang up his loudly-coloured apparel - John Cena.

Having announced his intention to walk away from the squared circle in late 2024, the highs and lows of Cena’s final year in the company will naturally be one for wrestling historians to discuss, but his overarching legacy with the company is something many of those very same historians will not be able to deny.

But will it be a happy ending for Cena? He recently lost his WWE Intercontinental Championship back to Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series: WarGames. That loss came by virtue of a returning Liv Morgan, who orchestrated a shocking heel turn that included a fake hug and a low blow to secure the title for 'Dirty Dom'.

Plus, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee are set to defend their World Tag Team Champions against The War Raiders, a team who rightfully can attest they 'never' lost the titles, while the women’s division continues to hot up with a series of matches scheduled as your current World Women’s Champion, Stephanie Vaquer, also set to declare her intentions this evening across the division.

Here’s your WWE Monday Night Raw preview—less than a week before we bid goodbye to John Cena in his final match at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13th

It’s set to be another late night for the UK contingent of the WWE Universe, with this evening’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw set to air on Netflix live at 1am GMT on November 9, with on-demand repeats available shortly after the show’s initial broadcast.

What has been announced for far for WWE Monday Night Raw?

World Tag Team Championship: AJ Styles and Dragon Lee (c) v The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar)

The World Tag Team Championship is set for a gruelling defence as the unlikely, high-flying duo of AJ Styles and Dragon Lee put their titles on the line against the formidable War Raiders (Erik & Ivar).

Styles and Lee are riding high after a successful, hard-fought defence against The New Day last week and, fuelled by that momentum, they immediately requested to face their next challengers.

This match has significant history: Erik and Ivar, who lost the titles at WrestleMania 41, never received their contractually obligated rematch for the gold, and they will look to violently correct that oversight tonight and become three-time champions.

For Styles and Lee, this is a test of cohesion against pure aggression; for The War Raiders, it is a desperate search for redemption and gold.

Finn Balor v Rey Mysterio

The rivalry between The Judgment Day and the legendary Rey Mysterio is set for another high-stakes chapter as Finn Balor steps into the ring with the Master of the 619.

This match is deeply personal due to The Judgment Day’s ongoing association and manipulation of Rey’s son, Dominik Mysterio. Balor, looking to assert his dominance within the group, will aim to send a painful message to the Mysterio family patriarch.

Rey, ever the defender of his family name, will utilize his agility and veteran experience to fight back against the "Demon King" and hopefully earn some long-awaited retribution.

Roxanne Perez v Lyra Valkyria

This singles match pits two of the brand's most exciting young stars against each other. Roxanne Perez takes on Lyra Valkyria following a chaotic brawl that engulfed the entire women’s tag team division last week.

Perez was notably the last woman standing alongside her allies, Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan, giving her momentum coming into this contest.

Lyra Valkyria will be seeking to prove that she is the superior singles competitor and halt Perez's momentum, establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with outside of the tag team scene.

Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer Will Address What’s Next

Stephanie Vaquer arrives at the GIANT Center to set the course for the Women's World Championship after successfully putting her dramatic feud with Hall of Famer Nikki Bella in the rear-view mirror.

Vaquer's search for her next formidable challenger is the dominant storyline on Raw; Liv Morgan, a former champion herself, has been very vocal about bringing gold back to The Judgment Day and has Vaquer firmly in her sights.

The question tonight is whether Morgan will make a definitive challenge right now to the "Dark Angel," or if she is planning a more subtle, long-game approach, leveraging her position in the dominant faction to get what she wants. Vaquer will have to address the threat of The Judgment Day as she looks toward her future reign.

One of the final segments announced for this evening’s Monday Night Raw features the WWE superstar who is officially set to be John Cena’s final in-ring opponent at this weekend’s Saturday Night Main Event - the former World Heavyweight and Intercontinental Champion, ‘The Ring General’ Gunther.

Given the escalating tension between these two, Gunther's comments are sure to be aggressive and focused entirely on ending Cena's career-spanning dominance and his segment will undoubtedly carry major implications for the main event picture moving forward - a month out from the annual Royal Rumble.

How did Gunther become John Cena’s final opponent?

Gunther earned the right to face John Cena as his final opponent by virtue of winning the recent ‘The Last Time Is Now’ tournament, which culminated on last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The Austrian defeated LA Knight in the final, solidifying his place as the man who could be the one to see Cena on his back out the door - unless, of course, we’re treated to a fairytale ending.

Gunther’s run in ‘The Last Time Is Now’ tournament

  • First Round: Gunther defeated Je’Von Evans (Monday Night Raw, November 17)
  • Quarter Finals: Gunther defeated Carmelo Hayes (Monday Night Raw, November 24)
  • Semi Finals: Gunther defeated Solo Sikoa (Monday Night Raw, December 1)
  • Finals: Gunther defeated LA Knight (Friday Night SmackDown, December 5)
