WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event: How to watch in the UK and matches currently confirmed
One week before the superstars of the WWE head to Riyadh for the Royal Rumble, there’s unfinished business to tend to.
What business could be tended to this shortly removed from one of the WWE’s “Big Four” Premium Live Events, you might ask yourself?
Quite a bit, to be fair.
The latest edition of the WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event takes place this evening, after the superstars of the company have completed their European tour, with this month’s proceedings taking place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada - and one homeland hero has the chance to challenge once again for one of the biggest prizes in the company when they head to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia next weekend.
This weekend’s event pits four superstars who all made their way through subsequent tournament brackets over the last few weeks by virtue of WWE SmackDown episodes, in a Fatal Four-Way encounter with the winner set to take on the current WWE Undisputed Champion, Drew McIntyre, at the Royal Rumble event.
Alongside that high-stakes encounter, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship will be defended, pitting long-time enemies against one another once again, while Cody Rhodes looks for a measure of revenge against the man who cost him his championship earlier this month; one ‘Samoan Werewolf’ with a really bad temper since returning to the company.
Here’s your preview of a stacked WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, and the all-important means of how -and when - you can watch it live in the United Kingdom this evening.
What time is WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event starting in the UK - and what channel is it on?
Gone are those early UK starts we enjoy so much when the WWE comes to our neck of the woods, I am afraid.
But to watch the latest episode of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, viewers will need to tune in from 1am on January 25.
Thankfully, for those who don’t have a Netflix subscription, the show will screen live on YouTube, with repeats available shortly after its initial broadcast
What matches have been confirmed so far for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event?
![[L-R] Damian Priest, Sami Zayn, Trick Williams and Randy Orton will all vie for a chance to challenge Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship at this evening's Saturday Night's Main Event.](https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/jpim-static/image/2026/01/22/11/50/WWE-SNME-hero-image-Jan-2026.png?crop=3:2,smart&trim=&width=640&quality=65)

Fatal Four-Way for a shot at the WWE Undisputed Championship: Damian Priest v Sami Zayn v Trick Williams v Randy Orton
The winner of this clash will officially become the #1 Contender, moving on to challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Undisputed Championship at the Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia next weekend. With four distinct styles and legacies clashing in one ring, Montreal is in for a night of absolute chaos.
For the ‘Homeland Hero,’ the stakes couldn't be higher. Sami Zayn secured his spot after an emotional victory over Kevin Owens in the qualifying rounds. Returning to Montreal as a top contender, Zayn is fuelled by the roar of the Bell Centre crowd, looking to recapture the magic that once saw him go toe-to-toe with the world's best.
‘The Archer of Infamy’ Damian Priest has been on a destructive path since his separation from the Judgement Day hierarchy. Priest fought his way through a brutal Triple Threat qualifier, using his sheer power to overcome the odds. For Priest, this isn't just about the title; it’s about proving he remains the apex predator of the main event scene.
The fastest-rising star in the company, Trick Williams, has transitioned from a standout in NXT to a genuine threat on the blue brand. He earned his place by pulling off a massive upset against Solo Sikoa, proving that his "Whoop That Trick" energy translates to the biggest stages in the world. Tonight is his chance to prove he isn't just the future - he’s the right now.
But ‘The Viper’ remains as dangerous as ever.
Randy Orton took a more calculated route, systematically dismantling his opponents in the qualifiers with a series of devastating RKOs. As a multi-time world champion, Orton is the veteran presence in this match, waiting for the perfect moment to strike and reclaim the throne he believes is rightfully his.
Cody Rhodes v Jacob Fatu
Just weeks ago, Cody Rhodes sat atop the mountain as the Undisputed WWE Champion. That all changed during the final leg of the European tour when Jacob Fatu made his terrifying return.
In a scene of absolute carnage, Fatu bypassed security and decimated Rhodes, allowing Drew McIntyre to swoop in and end Cody’s historic reign. For Rhodes, the loss of the title was a professional blow, but the nature of the attack was deeply personal.
Since his return to the company, Jacob Fatu has been a force of nature. Unpredictable, violent, and possessing a "bad temper" that has left a trail of destruction across the roster, Fatu has become the ultimate wildcard.
In Montreal tonight, Cody Rhodes isn't just looking for a win—he’s looking to reclaim his dignity. Rhodes has spent the last fortnight calling out Fatu, demanding a face-to-face encounter away from the shadows of the Bloodline.
He knows that to get back into the title picture, he must first neutralise the threat of the Werewolf.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY (c) v Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez
After months of battling side-by-side, Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY have moved past their former legendary rivalries to become one of the most dominant tag teams in recent memory.
Their victory over The Kabuki Warriors (ASUKA and Kairi Sane) earlier this month proved that the two best performers in the world are even better as a unit, with their chemistry is at an all-time high.
But tonight they face a duo that specialises in psychological warfare.
Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez are entering Montreal with a massive chip on their shoulders. Morgan claims there is an asterisk next to RHIYO's title reign because she never technically lost the tag titles herself, having been forced to vacate them due to injury previously.
By her side is the ruthless Roxanne Perez, who is looking to redeem herself after being the one pinned when the titles were eventually lost.
For Rhea and IYO, this is about defending their home turf as a team and silencing Liv Morgan’s "Revenge Tour" once and for all. For the challengers, it’s about more than just the belts - it’s about proving that even the strongest friendship in the WWE can be broken if you hit it hard enough.
Has anyone declared yet for next week’s Royal Rumble matches?
Despite concerns that no one had declared last week for the Royal Rumble matches so close to the event itself, we now have a couple of names that we know will be competing in the 30-person battle royal in Riyadh in a week’s time.
Cody Rhodes announced on the January 16 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown that he will be competing in the men’s Royal Rumble match, with Monday Night Raw superstars Gunther, Jey Uso, Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee and Penta all declaring for the match earlier this week.
On the women’s Royal Rumble side of things, Rhea Ripley, Roxanne Perez, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Liv Morgan, Bayley, Lyra Valkyria and ASUKA all declared that they would be entering the match for a chance of challenging for one of the top women’s titles the company has to offer.
