Proceedings will kick off with an exclusive guided tour of the Royal Armouries collection, followed by a rare hands-on demonstration showcasing the operation and evolution of historic British military firearms.

The event's opening lecture will be delivered by Jonathan Ferguson, the museum’s well-known Keeper of Firearms and Artillery. The high-profile lineup also features popular naval historian and YouTuber Drachinifel, alongside acclaimed author and historian Dr Peter Caddick-Adams, who is set to revisit the enduring ‘Slim vs Monty’ debate surrounding two of Britain’s most successful Second World War generals.

Designed to span a wide range of military history topics, the full-day schedule is built to offer delegates the unique chance to experience the pages of the magazine brought to life directly on stage.

“It’s like building a live issue of Britain at War magazine,” said editor John Ash. “We wanted to create an event that captures the same variety, debate and storytelling that readers enjoy every month, while also making full use of such an iconic venue in Leeds.”

Organisers hope the conference, which is expected to attract visitors from across the country to the city, will eventually become a regular fixture in the local Leeds calendar.
