Everything you need to know about Temple Newsam Food Festival this weekend
From street food traders and chef demonstrations to full stage schedules and family activities, here is everything you need to know before you go
Organisers of the Temple Newsam Food Festival have revealed the full programme for their second annual celebration, taking place across the fields of the Temple Newsam Estate this weekend (August 15-16)
Following a busy debut last summer, the 2026 edition promises an expanded lineup of independent street food traders, live culinary demonstrations, and fresh family activities.
Assistant Festival Manager Izaak Shuttleworth noted that community support has fuelled rapid growth for the event, bringing together a broad collection of local chefs, musicians, and entrepreneurs.

Visitors entering the main grounds will find an Artisan Market housing over 95 independent small businesses, showcasing sweet treats, savoury produce, charcuterie, cheeses, and handmade crafts.
Alongside the artisan market, a dedicated Street Food Arena will host 29 vendors serving global delicacies from Japan, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Jamaica, Malaysia, Venezuela, Greece, Hungary, and Brazil.
To complement the food, 11 independent bars will operate across the arena, alongside the Soldier’s Ale House in partnership with Vocation Brewery.
Tribute headliners and live chef demos
The live entertainment programme spans four stages across both days.
On the Main Stage, regional bands and solo artists will perform ahead of evening headliners, with soul tribute act The Soul Shebang taking the Saturday night slot and The Bootleg Bee Gees topping the bill on Sunday evening.
Nearby, chef Stephanie Moon leads the Cookery Theatre, compere-ing live demonstrations from 12 head chefs, restaurateurs, and former MasterChef contestants.
For younger visitors, The Magic Matt Show and Liam Moorhouse present six daily circus and magic performances between 11am and 4pm on the Live Entertainers Stage.
Making its debut this year is the Sizzling Showdown Arena, hosted by comedian Neil Frost in partnership with Pure Pet Food.
Running between 12:30pm and 4:30pm daily, the interactive arena invites attendees to take part in four free-to-enter contests: The Foodie Olympics, Wally Woof’s Family Dog Show, The Chilli Challenge, and a session of Pies Down, Eyes Down Bingo hosted by Barry Bingo.
Elsewhere across the estate, families can complete a complimentary scavenger hunt, watch traditional Viking cooking displays, visit the Scribble Tent, or participate in target paintball, axe throwing workshops, and music tuition.
